Time Strategies

Image
Time management for me has never been an issue. I pride myself that I have the ability to finish things in an efficient manner. Although I sent in the time management schedule for me I will work on the class as I find time to do so, but obviously before the due dates. My goal for this class is to finish it relatively early so I can dedicate my time to everything that the end of the semester brings. I will base my schedule off the one that I originally sent, but again I am going to try to finish the class relatively early.  ( Toy Story Meme )

Technology

I really like that in this class we will be using a lot of different technology platforms. I feel like sometimes in school even though we have access to technology professors do not always utilize it like they should. I am really excited to explore the different platforms and hopefully learn something new that I will be able to apply to other areas of my life. Even though technology can be challenging, hopefully, I will not run into too many problems this semester.  ( Technology Meme )

Assignments

Image
After going through the first few assignments I have really enjoyed how the majority of the class will be us interacting with blogs as well as other students. I really enjoy online classes, because even though you do not see each other face to face, but you are still able to learn from each other's perspectives by interacting with each other through blog comments.  I am a little bit nervous because I have not had to use my creative writing skills in a while, but I think it will be good for me to start getting back to that considering most of my college classes have been business based.  (Ryan Gosling:  Hey Girl Meme )

Growth Mindset... "The Power of Yet"

Image
Growth Mindset Personally, I have never heard of Carol Dweck before. I watch TedTalks pretty frequently and have not come across her yet. Right off the bat, I really liked what she had to say about the "power of yet". I think a lot of times in this day and age people just take the easy way out of solving problems, in doing this they are training themselves to that it is ok to give up on a challenge. Instead of viewing the situation as a lesson they can learn from people tend to just focus on the failure maybe because they are comparing themselves to other people or experiencing pressure from their parents. Although our generation sometimes does take short cuts just like Carol said a lot of it has to do with how employers or teachers choose to handle failure. She continued on to talk about the solution which is to p raise wisely, reward based on strategies and problem solving, and lastly to encourage us to go out of our comfort zone. Although each individual plays a role

Introducing Me... Alanna Curry!!

Image
Hello, all! My name is Alanna Curry and I am from Mckinney, TX. This semester I am starting my senior year, which is crazy to me because it seems like just yesterday I was starting my freshmen year at OU! I am majoring in Marketing with hopes to go into sales. This past summer I spent my time interning at the Four Seasons Resort in Dallas. Although, I am not a hospitality major I was interested in the internship because I love interacting with people and like the idea of making someone dreams come true through their stay at the resort. When I have free time ( which is never), I enjoy spending time with my family at the lake, working out, and shopping. During the school year, I work at Orangetheory Fitness in Moore. I love working here because it is a fun atmosphere and it encourages me to work out. My favorite thing about OU is the football! I have grown up an OU fan and always look forward to the hustle and bustle that game day brings. I am really sad that this will be my last year

Storybook Favorites

Storybook #1: Kindergarten Shenanigans As I was scrolling through the storybook titles this one really stuck out to me! The title is very light hearted and brings me back to a time in my life I really enjoyed. My Kindergarten teacher was one of my favorites and I still visit her at least once a year. After reading the introduction it brought me back to the lessons my Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Price spent so much time teaching me.(  Link to Article ) ( Kindergarten Class ) Storybook #2: Mermaid Maiden In doing this assignment I took the approach of choosing storybook titles that sound intriguing. I choose this one because I have always been interested in mermaids. I really like their beauty and uniqueness even though they are not real. The introduction of this storybook was very descriptive and left me wanting to read more of the story. I like the idea that this character Peter seemed like he was going to find comfort in the mermaid. It goes a long with the image I have in

My Favorite Places In Europe!

Image
In June 2016 I had the opportunity to study abroad in Europe! I visited Italy and France! Here are a few places I really enjoyed.  Capri, Italy Capri was one of my favorite places that I visited while in Italy. While we were there we went on a boat ride along the Amalfi Coast. During our tour we drove by the Blue Grotto's. The water was unlike any other blue I have ever seen.  (Blue Grotto in Capri, Italy:  Blue Grotto in Capri  ) Venice, Italy Although I only visited Venice for less than 24 hours I fell in love with the uniqueness of a city being on water. While we were there we walked around the city and explored. I really enjoyed just walking around instead going to different tourist attractions.  (The Canals in Venice, Italy :  Venice Italy ) Paris, France Paris was an absolute dream. My favorite memory was when we were taking a walk late in the evening and I turned the corner to see the Eiffel Tower Sparking as it does on every hour. I stayed outsid
