Introducing Me... Alanna Curry!!
Hello, all! My name is Alanna Curry and I am from Mckinney, TX. This semester I am starting my senior year, which is crazy to me because it seems like just yesterday I was starting my freshmen year at OU! I am majoring in Marketing with hopes to go into sales. This past summer I spent my time interning at the Four Seasons Resort in Dallas. Although, I am not a hospitality major I was interested in the internship because I love interacting with people and like the idea of making someone dreams come true through their stay at the resort. When I have free time ( which is never), I enjoy spending time with my family at the lake, working out, and shopping. During the school year, I work at Orangetheory Fitness in Moore. I love working here because it is a fun atmosphere and it encourages me to work out.
My favorite thing about OU is the football! I have grown up an OU fan and always look forward to the hustle and bustle that game day brings. I am really sad that this will be my last year as a student during football season, but I definitely will continue to come to games after I graduate.
Summer 2016 I spent the majority of the summer studying abroad in Europe. I went to Italy and France. I fell in love with Europe within just a few days of being there. I really like the people and their lifestyle. Everyone seems to cherish the time they have together where as in America we tend to focus more on a fast pace lifestyle. I talked about a few of my favorite places I visited in the other blog post, but I also really enjoyed Nice, France. The city is surrounded by the ocean and you can always walk around and find a good local coffee shop. Below is a picture of me

I am really excited about taking this class! I have always been interested in myths and story books! I look forward to interacting with you all this semester.
Hi Alanna! I know you are not the only person excited for the football season to come, and how great that you will be able to enjoy this first year of the new era before you graduate! And you will find all kinds of Italian and French story collections online at the Freebookapalooza, along with books from many other European countries too. I hope you will have fun browsing and exploring the project options later this week!
ReplyDeleteHi Alanna! OU football is definitely one of the best part about OU! My favorite part of the football game is the opening ceremonies, it just creates a sense of unity for me. I can sympathize with school going by so fast, I am only a Junior but it is still crazy to think I have been here for almost three years! I have always wanted to study abroad and have heard so many great things about Europe. It was great reading you blog post, great job!
ReplyDeleteAubryelle
One of my favorite places I have ever been was Italy, for the same reasons as you! Even though people talk, walk, and drive fast there, I really appreciated how they seemed to cherish the moment they were in instead of just being in a rush to get to the next place! I haven't been to Nice but it looks beautiful and I hope to go someday! It is nice to see someone else who really enjoyed the European culture!
ReplyDeleteHey Alanna! I feel like almost everyone I have met from TX is from Tyler or McKinney TX! They must be big towns. This is my last semester and last football season at OU as well, and I have to be honest, I am sad. I am also a little salty that Big Game Bob couldn't hold out for one more season. I hope Lincoln Riley puts up an excellent season, lord knows he has big shoes to fill. It's great that you love working out, teach me. Seriously. I am glad to see that you like to travel, I honestly think there is no better hobby in the world! Stay wild. Boomer!
ReplyDeleteHey, Alanna! Hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteI also love game days at OU during football season. It's hard to believe that this weekend was our last first game day as students! As you probably know, it was ridiculously hot outside. I'm definitely ready for the cooler weather later this fall.
I'm not surprised that you loved Italy and France! Though I only spent a brief amount of time in Paris while I was traveling across Italy, I would have loved to visit some other French towns like you did. I have heard great things about Nice! I think revisiting is definitely on the bucket list.
Hey Alanna! Its funny that you work at Orangetheory, because last semester I worked at the Hideaway right next to it! Small world! I’m so jealous that you got to live in Europe this summer. I went a few years ago and I’ve been dying to go back ever since, especially to Italy, and I total get what you mean about the lifestyle being so different!
ReplyDeleteHello, Alanna! Here is an early congratulations on your upcoming graduation! Graduating college is such an accomplishment and I hope that you can find the job of your dreams! Anyways, I grew up in Norman so I can completely relate to your love of OU football. There is such a great atmosphere on game days, and going to the games is a great way to hang out with family or friends and enjoy tradition. Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteHi Alanna! I am also a senior so I know what you mean when you say it’s crazy to think about how we’re almost done. I share your love for OU football since I grew up in Oklahoma and always loved watching them. It’s really cool how you got to experience Europe this summer and appreciate the different cultures there.
ReplyDeleteHi Alanna! Congratulations on starting your senior year! You’re almost done and I imagine that’s pretty bittersweet. I am also a fan of shopping and travelling. I’ve not made it to Europe yet, but I look forward to experiencing it someday. I’ve heard it involves a lot of walking and I’m a bit of a wimp, so we’ll see how that works out. I’m glad to hear that you’re motivated to stay healthy by working out. I’m trying to get more into that right now. I think a lot of kids get so busy and distracted with school that they forget to take care of themselves. Good luck with your year!
ReplyDeleteHey Alanna. I too am finishing up my career here at the greatest college in the states. I hope you enjoyed your experience as much as I did. I too am a huge football fan so this week is going to be really tough for us but if you like me you'll pull out something cold and make the week go by as good as it can haha. Well good luck on that last semester and I hope nothing but good things happen the rest of the semester.
ReplyDeleteHi Alanna! Wow, that’s so exciting that it’s your senior year! Your internship in the summer sounds really fun, what did you do for your internship? I love that you sound so passionate about everything that you do. Your picture in France looks gorgeous and your summer abroad trip in Europe sounds amazing, I have always wanted to study abroad but I have never had the time to fit it into my schedule.
ReplyDeleteHi Alanna, congratulations on being a senior! I am also down to my last two semesters and am ready to get them done with. I think it’s very cool how you have been to Europe and that view in the second picture looks gorgeous. Hopefully one day I will be able to visit France and Italy as well, good luck this semester!
ReplyDeleteHey Alanna! Glad I finally made it to your homepage. I did not know that you were at an internship this summer in Dallas. That explains why I did not get to meet you at OrangeTheory until the school semester started. I also really enjoy OU football games. My dad, mom and me have had season tickets for about five years now. Nothing stresses me out more than game days when we are not in a solid lead by fourteen points. I am also one of those who holds out till the end of the game, even when we are losing. Good luck in class this semester. I am sure I’ll see you at the gym (maybe not that much during Hell Week though).
ReplyDeleteHi Alanna!
ReplyDeleteYou're entering you senior year just like me! It truly is crazy how time flies. I do enjoy OU football like you except I've never been to a single game in my four years here. It's also great how you've been able to travel outside the US to different countries, especially Europe! I hope to travel their someday because the only place I've been to out of the country is Vietnam, but that was when I was like 9.
Hi Alanna! I am from flower mound so not too far from Mckinney! I love how close OU is to the north Texas area. That is really cool that you got to study abroad in Europe. I would love to be able visit Italy some day. I think working at a fitness center would be very motivating in terms of staying active and leading a healthy lifestyle, which is so important in college!
ReplyDeleteHi Alanna!
ReplyDeleteI really like the design and structure of your blog. Also, I think it was really cool of you to incorporate personal photos into your introduction. Congratulations on being a senior! I’m also a senior this year and I can defiantly relate to how fast college has flown by. I hope you are having a good semester so far and I can’t wait to explore the rest of your blog!
Hey Alanna! You seem like a really outgoing person! It's so cool that you got the opportunity to do an internship this last summer. I am not sure how close Dallas is to your hometown, but I bet it was good to be back in your home state for a while. Also, coming from a Tulsan, I have to say, great choice of favorite team! Boomer! Also, congrats on being so close to finishing up. I am also a senior, so hang in there and finish strong!
ReplyDeleteHi, Alanna! I’m not a huge football person but I do like to travel when the opportunity arises. I agree that the lifestyle in Europe is different from that for the U.S., and maybe one day I can experience Nice for myself, it sounds like a pleasant place. I wish you good luck on the rest of this semester and your senior year!
ReplyDeleteHi Alanna!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool that you had the opportunity to intern with Four Seasons and see what hospitality is like. I grew up around hotels due to family businesses, so I have always loved that environment. I also enjoy Sooner football, and can't believe this semester of Senior year is coming to an end! Looks like we have one more home game as undergraduate students! I wish you the best of luck with the couple of weeks left. Nice to meet you!
Hi Alanna!
ReplyDeleteFootball is one of the coolest parts about OU. Not a lot of people get experience this kind of fan base at their college! This is also my last year of football season as an undergrad and it freaks me out a little... I hope your senior year goes well!! Best of luck with the end of the semester!!
